Course Overview
This training is ideal for anyone responsible for planning and conducting assessments using reliable assessment tools. We cover the principles and practices of outcomes based assessment including designing. Assessment Guides and discovering how to conduct assessments and RPL, using these Assessment Guides.
Duration
The course will be contacted over a period of 2 consecutive days which includes facilitation and group activities
Accreditation
A certificate of proficiency will be awarded upon successful completion of a portfolio of evidence

Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate an understanding of outcomes-based assessment versus other forms of assessment
- Explain the purpose, process and related benefits and challenges of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
- Prepare for assessment (resources, logistics,documentation and environment) ensuring fairness and safety
- Conduct the assessment in conjunction with respective parties (moderators, safety personnel etc.)
- Recognise the special needs of learners
- Gather evidence to enable valid, consistent and reliable assessment
- Provide feedback on the assessment to the learner in accordance with confidentiality requirements
- Ensure that feedback is constructive, culturally sensitive and sufficient to enable parties to make further decisions
- Record assessment in line with the requirements of the organisation’s quality assurance system
- Review the assessment process
